had an issue once with dennis carpenter , out of stock on an item , no call no would you like to wait etc ... just shipped the order without it , of course i didnt pay for it / refunded , but i was going to have to pay shipping for that 1 item again . then npd i called and asked about a radiator for my 53 . the salesman said they didnt have the american made one and no longer carried them . they only have the furrin' ones of which i have heard so many horror stories about , and that's all i'd find anywhere . i spent some time on this idgit box looking , found their supplier , called got a quote and yes we still make them . well i called back to npd and had a ocnversation with someone who actually knew our old trucks and he got pis--d off at the other one took the name and told me he'd call me right back . he did after talking to his boss and someone getting their behind bitten off . they beat the suppliers price too with no shipping . now jegs .......... well i have been waiting on an answer to the compatibility of some 'stang parts that they listed as working on my bird . guy say's i'll tell so and so to call you as he likes the birds of those years and thats what he plays with ...... that was over a month ago . i found out the answer through my own research . won't call 'em again for anything .
Hmm, to me, Musicians Friend has set the bar for all internet order companies to follow. I have yet to find one as consistent, or as good, or as fast. No matter what the product is....and that includes my local grocery store.

Ok don't laugh. It's been three week since I ordered a optima battery from summit racing and they've sent three notices that there was going to be another delay. The last notice was yesterday stating the delivery date has moved from 10/5 to 10/20. So I email them to canel my order immediately. Found the same battery on Amazon for 15 buck more and would ship today. I just got back in and have a message from summit and amazon the battery shipped today. So now what am I suppost to do?
Just refuse to accept delivery for whichever you don't want. Have shipper return to sender. If you still get billed on your CC dispute the charge with the CC company.
I have had a similar experience with an Orange County vendor...that said, I have also ordered from many other OC vendors (and others) who have gone out of their way to provide service in a timely fashion. There are far too many vendors around today for our truck parts to have to suffer the ineptitude of just one vendor. I have scratched this vendor off my list.
You know guys most of us can tell a horry story or two about ordering long distance over the net or by phone. Maybe the way to "Start" to improve this is for us to band together. The parts Companys no longer need any "ONE" customer. There customer base is so big that if you don't buy that part the next guy in line will, and the line is very long. Customer service should be the rule and not the exception, somewhere along the way we the guys spending the money got relegated to some kind of second hand citizen.
Several studies have shown that a person relates a bad experience to 10 people for every person they relate a good one. Marketing guys study this stuff, it's hardly new, but the word doesn't seem to have gotten around to these vendors.
