Last set of ball joints I did, it was $100 deposit at bumper to bumper, free rental, just have to leave the deposit until you return the tool. I personally think you may want to talk to a different mechanic, something sounds fishy with the one you have now......
So you can rent the tool? The mechanic at the shop I talked to said it took him three months to get this tool.
He's either lying, or he owed the Snap-On guy a ton of money and the salesman refused to give him another tool until said mechanic brought down his balance.
I bought a Universal OTC ball joint press kit and the Super Duty adapter kit and received it within a few days.
Thanks again for the reply's. This mechanic was really giving me the run around. Finally got him to tally everything up and it came to $1100. Called Bumper to Bumper and they are on sale now. $250 for two upper and two lower, plus another $200 for vacuum seals and dust covers. $700 savings, priceless! I really appreciate the help guys.
Check your local Ford House.I bought all the seals,u-joints,and o-rings from them and they were right about the same price as your local parts chains. All Motorcraft stuff.Same part numbers as in the write up I sent you.
