large valve 390

I am having the 2.09 and 1.65 valves installed in my C4AE-G heads for a 30 over 390 engine. Does anything need to be done with notching out the top edge of the cylinder for the valve? Looking to make sure the valve is not going to hit the block in the upper cylinder area.

Depends on the lift of your cam. It would be a good idea to mock it up with clay and check. The exhaust side is often the culprit. Easy fix to notch them just don't get carried away.

Exactly. With the overbore, it might not be necessary, but always good to check. Also, check your valve-to-piston clearance while you're doing all that work.
