I am working on a 2001 F350 superduty Powertroke.

I just rebuilt my 4R100 and installed the Trasgo tugger kit. I drilled the holes to the max, installed the converter clutch lock up valve. The torque converter is the Recon billet backed converter. I also replaced the front pump. The case was sent out and machined flat. I put a new cooler line bypass pipe on the case.

Everything works great untill it gets hot. Then it acts like it is low on fluid and flares up and banges in to gear.

I have done a few of these transmission, for myself and a couple friends. I am no pro by any means. More of a hobbie.

I really need your help. Can the torque converter cause this problem?
I am being told that was not a wise choice. I had one person suggest the lock up valve may be the issue. Assuming I read the directions correctly, my pump is a pwm style and will work well with the on-off lock up valve.

I am greatfull for any help and suggestion.

hard to believe there are no suggestions out there. Has no one ever had any issues like this before?

I've seen issues that are similar. Working when cold but not hot is often a leaking seal. ATF is thicker when cold, but thins out when hot and can easily leak past a bad seal when hot.
