If you cannot repair it with metal you can;

1. use fiberglass cloth and resin.

2. Body filler reinforced with fiberglass (long hair or chopped)

3. liquid epoxy steel/metal of some kind.

Might be good to check all the salvage yards for different doors. Might get luck and find a better one.

Short of finding solid replacement doors, replacing the rotted metal with new is the only proper repair. Bottoms of doors are not really that complex of shapes that it would be difficult to form your own patch panels. Once you learn how easy it is to form them, you won't worry about doing other patching as needed. Do you have or can you borrow basic woodworking tools such as skill saw, saber saw, belt sander, router? If so, you can make the forming bucks needed to simplify the job. Post some pix of the problem areas and I,ll help you figure out how to repair them.

There's got to be lots of good doors in a drier part of the country. Check local ad papers... there was a guy here who advertised that he made regular trips south to bring back body parts.

Or ebay, of course. This search string will find doors:
(57,58,59,60,1957,1958,1959,1960) ford (pickup,truck) door

Fixing the door would be good practice in sheet metal work, and it's a lot more convenient to work on than something the size of a cab. Google for 'door skin replace' and you may find something helpful.
