im doing a dually swap on my single wheel truck and today i was looking to see if the brakes were in good condition or needed to be switched out. And while looking around i noticed clips from the inside the drum that held the ebrake cable and i need to know is there any easier way of removing the e brake cable from inside the drum? Do you have to remove all the brake asembly off and out of the way or is there a special tool that would make things easier?
Thanks!
ummm....is your truck an f250? if so the rearend should be able to accomodate for dually, you just might need to install longer studs and get the wheels. I think the housing and everything is the same. I'm not 100% sure but studs and wheels is all you should need.
Double_Zero, that's a negative on the F250 rear end accommodating dual wheels - dedicated pickup dually axles are 4" wider than the SRW ones, each axle tube and shaft is 2" longer than the SRW model. The only way a SRW axle will fit dually wheels is if it's going under a cab-chassis truck due to its narrower frame, but even then the spring perches will be in the wrong locations.
