I just took delivery of my new 2010 Ford F250 . After driving it around for 500 miles , I hooked up to my Airstream to set up the hitch. I have a back up camera to aid in hook up, that is wired to male a 7 pin plug. Just the power to trailer batt. and ground lugs are used . It would not work because the power to the battery lug is dead. Anybody have a idea way it would be on a new truck ? Please help

On some new trucks you have to install a fuse or relay in the fuse panel under the hood to get the brakes and battery to work. The dealer usually supplies this with a pigtail for the brake controller if you purchased the tow package. Check inside the glove box.
Thanks for the replys , I did check the under das and the under hood fuse boxs , alaa the fuses that have to do with the trailer seem to be there . This truck has a controler built in from the factoryand i'm wandering if it will not power that lug if all the outhers are not pluged in ?

That pin should be hot whenever the key is on, no matter what is connected to the other 6. You need to check your Owner's Guide to make sure a fuse/relay isn't missing or blown.
Hi
Just talked with a good Ford Tech a few days ago and he said the contol module will not close the relay for the charge pin unless all the pins a connected. So I checked it with a meter at the trailer battery and he was correct . thanks for all the help, the problem is over.
I am now out on my first camping trip with it now, went 1200 mile and getting 10 miles to a gallon.
