To "cbj1111": I don't think you'll find it in the venicle (Excursion). A guy at work bought a used "01 Excursion, and four different Ford dealers (Va. Beach, VA) maintained that the code was NOT printed anywhere in the vehicle. They all wanted a fee to pull the info from the trucks "computer", but one of them did that for free only when he had it at the dealership for some other type of maintenance.

Smile keyless entry code

I agree with acamar, But mine was a white box on my 00 expy with a white label. I had to lay upside down in the driver seat, and shove my head under the brake pedal. Look up toward the side mirror, and you will see a white box with a bunch of numbers and barcodes, and gibber-jabber on it. Five unlabeled numbers stand out prominently. That's the number. Write it down and try it out! Then you can add your own number, if you don't like theirs.

I have a 05 150 Lariat. Can't find the keyless entry code. I've looked in all the suggested places. Any suggestions (other than the dealer)?

While sitting in the driver seat, look above where your left foot would be up against the firewall where you'll find a box, look on it for a 5 digit number that's larger than the other numbers, this is the entry code. It helps to use a flashlight!

Are you referring to the built-in factory anti-theft system, or an actual alarm system that sounds a siren?

What year is your truck?

For a 2001 you need two keys to do it yourself. With only one key you're pretty much stuck going to the dealer. Only the 97 and 98 model years need just one key to program another.

If you have two different keys, then you can add additional ones yourself. Notice I said two DIFFERENT keys. That means you cannot cheat and use the same key twice during the programming steps. Once you have two keys, here are the programming steps for additional keys, or even if you're adding a remote start system.

Program a new Ford PATS Key
**You must have two original keys to perform this procedure. If you only have one key, you WILL have to take it to the dealer to get it programmed**

1. Insert and existing (working) key into the ignition cylinder.

2. Turn the ignition cylinder ON (RUN) and back to OFF. Ignition should stay on for at least ONE SECOND.

3. Remove the existing key and, within TEN seconds, insert a second working key and turn it to ON (RUN) and the back OFF. Ignition must be in ON for at least ONE second, but no more than TEN seconds. Remove the key.

4. Insert the new key before TWENTY seconds have elapsed and turn it to ON (RUN). Leave it the ON position for at least ONE second and turn back to OFF.

5. The security light will light up for THREE seconds to indicate that the new key has been successfully programmed.

6. To program additional keys, repeat steps 1 through 5.

Why is it that the key you have now doesn't work?

I helped a friend a find the door code on his 2002 Expy and it is stamped on the security module adjacent to the steering column under the dash.
