I am unable to relocate the thread thast explains how to test the 9 pin connectors on the valve covers. My service engine soon light comes on in a pull, but goes off soon and the truck runs fine. Anything I need to worry about untill it gets worse? I hate to pull the valve covers yet as this engine does not leak anywhere with 90,000 miles on it. 1999 ford 350 a/t 4x4 all stock my fist diesel. Thanks Denny Belen,NM 87002
if you have a chip or programmer it could be insuficiant high pressure oil which is normal, but you would have to check the codes to be sure.My truck does the same in a long hard pull
My SES light comes on when I'm pulling a heavy load or accelerating to fast down the hwy. The only thing I can figure is that it's the HPOP that's having a hard time keeping up with my demands and since I have a E99 with a 15* HPOP that would make a ton of sense and when I let off the throttle and set my cruising speed the SES light shuts off again.
