1st Time Stall out
OK I just purchased a 95 XLT, 4.0l, auto., reg cab with body lift kit. Just have 1 problem. When I start the truck it will idle for about 3 seconds and stall out. 
When I restart it , it will run like a CADILLAC ??? No Problem, No Engine lights. What can be causing this ? The only problem I can see is wearing out the starter, using it twice as much as needed. LOL

My guess is you don't have enough fuel pressure when you first start.
Does the pump run for a couple of seconds when you turn on the key but don't try to start it. if doesn't then the ecm isn't doing the prime at start if if does then I would try turning it off and on a couple of times then try to start it. If it starts and runs ok then either the pump is weak or the filter is partial plugged. The other item that can effect idle is Iac valve if it is slow it could cause the symptoms.
