The sort order

When I go in to sort,it works fine for me.

Barry,
You knew all the albums containing diagrams, tech photos ,& avatar must be HIDDEN from public view, Right?
Please pass this info on to others.

I cleaned up 4 pages of diagram albums the other day.

Dennis, where does it say that? I understand the avatars but here is a quote from the gallery page:

"Add Photo To Album
NOTE: Only Ford truck related photos are allowed with the ONLY exception being for avatars used in your FTE message board postings."

I would think that diagrams and tech photos ARE Ford truck related ans should be allowed in the albums and to be viewed. If they have to be hidden, what's the point of having them anyway?

Also, what about Club FTE members? It says here that we can post ANY photos we want.

https://www.ford-trucks.com/dcforum/DCForumID42/1.html

Please clarify this for me, thanks!

Barry

PS. If you go into my first galley, could you take the last pic (my truck) and make it #1?

Thanks again!

"Check here if you wish to hide this album from the gallery list. This is useful for uploading images that you don't want listed on the main Gallery page, such as your avatar, diagrams for postings, photos for posting, etc."

Basically, this keeps the gallery main listing useful because you can sort by vehicle year, etc. Hidden galleries are VERY useful. They allow you a storage place for photos, avatars, diagrams, the FTE classifieds, etc., for postings, your Club FTE web page, etc. No one really needs to see someone's motorcycle, their avatar, a basket of parts, diagrams, etc, in the main listing. Afterall, the User Gallery was put in place as a replacement for the Picture Gallery, which was a manual system highlightning user trucks.

Thanks for the clarification Ken!

Hey, I finally got the sort to work. I forgot I had Netscape on my system too so I tried it instead of Explorer, bingo!

Well, I finally got the sort option to work. I kind of cheated though, I went off what Barry said and downloaded netscape. The sort button works now, only I have to deal with how slow netscape is, hehe. Well, I'll take what I can get so I guess this will be fine, I'll just use Netscape when i want to change the pics around. Thanks for the idea Barry...

Hey Ken,
Not to start this thing all over again but the problem also exists on other computers too. I'm at work right now using Windows NT 2000 and the sort button doesn't work here either. The only place I've been lucky with it working is using Netscape. What could the difference be with how that button works on the browsers? I'm cool with it right now and don't expect you to jump on this problem again since I can do it through Netscape. I just want to let you know that it might be a problem as more users start really using this feature. I don't know, maybe it's me and my dumb luck, but it's hard to believe that two different computers have the same problem with the same feature.

Thanks again in advance for looking into this when you get the chance. Later Ken...

Hey Ry, it's the same deal at my work. The one's with explorer can't sort the first album but they can sort all the one's below it.

Here's something I noticed later. After finally getting the sort right using netscape and having the first pic show up on the posts, it seems like that pic can't be changed. I tried resorting and getting a different pic for #1 but it doesn't show up in the posts. In fact, I deleted the #1 pic and put a different one there but the pic in the posts is still the old one even though it's not even in the album anymore. Strange? Is there a delay in the update? Why don't you try it and see what happens.

I have sorted all the pics, even the 1st one using Netscape and have had no problems with any delay. When I use Netscape everything seems to work, a lot slower though. I wonder if Ken uses somehting else besides IE to browse, I thought I heard Linux somewhere. That could be the reason he can do it but we can't. I don't know, but I can suffer with Netscape if I have too, but I still think he might want to look into why IE doesn't do it.

I fixed it. It turns out to be a bug in Internet Explorer. It does not happen with Opera, Netscape, Lynx or other non-braindead browsers (I'm not a Microsoft fan). It only occurred with large numbers of items in a form submission.

Ken,
I don't need to tell you how good you are because you probably already know, but seriously... you are the poop (notice I'm watching the profanity, hehe) Thanks for taking the time, over and over again to fix this issue. I appreciate it..
