Hi can anybody tell me why i cant keep my truck from wondering all over the road i have goodyear tires.Have checked pressures they say 65front and 75 rear i think thats to high i tow a fifth wheel camper and it feels like im driving on ice anybody help thx clint
Hi barebones the truck is not lifted i have had the truck 18 months it wanders all the time but if i hit a pothole it gets alot worse and living in canada the roads are not the best and its a deisel 6.0 thx clint
How many miles? It could be a loose steering gear box, or tire issues. Make sure the tires are load range E, there are plenty of shops that will but load range D tires on without thinking twice. A superduty with a diesel will not handle well with an under-rated tire. Also, max PSI on the stock tires is 80, you may try pumping them up and see what kind of results you have.
thx wizardsr it has 62000 miles the tires are goodyear wranglers e range will take a look at steering box truck goes for service at end of oct just want a heads up for the dealer as i have lots of warrenty still

Must be an extended warranty?
My 05 wandered a little since very early on. I tried to have it addressed while it was still under warranty (that was in 06, was out of warranty by 12/06 due to mileage), but the dealer said it was still in spec. It's gotten progressively worse over the last 2 years, to the point where now it's tough to tow with, requires constant correction and is easy to over-correct with a little gust of wind against the trailer. Going to be yanking the steering gearbox in the next couple weeks and sending it out to redhead.
Good luck on yours, hopefully they'll take care of it!
Apparently there's an adjustment screw on the top of the power steering box. I'd try tweeking that a little each way to see if it affects the problem. Unfortunately "wandering" problems are not new to these forums. However, if you've had the truck for 18 months and the truck has only recently begun to exhibit the problem, that's very good, because it means you don't have the so-called "death wobble" that so many people talk about.
Since I have a gasser, and the power steering is different in diesels, I'm afraid I'll have to bail out on you, to avoid saying something wrong/stupid.
Thx barebones thx for the info. And thx wizardsr looks like ill be having some fun with this truck cant wait for the new 2011 i like the look and the new 6.7 i just love the sound of a V8 deisel thx clint...
