84 bronco 2 transmission problem
I have a 84 ford bronco 2 5 speed transmission that came out of a truck i wrecked it will not go into 1st or 2nd gear it goes into all other gears just fine the reason i am reusing this transmission is because the other transmission that came out of a 87 has a different sized shaft and length so it will not work with anything i currently have it bolts up to a 2.8 that has been bored .30 over and has about 10,000 miles on the engine so it makes sense to reuse the engine however if i cannot get this transmission to work i may be forced to try and make the 87 trans work on it although i would prefer to get the 84 one to work as it seems to be better built any help any one could give would be greatly appreciated

I would look at the shifter not being installed properly, especially if the shifter was removed while in gear.
If you have a FM-145/146 if there are any broken parts it would be easy enough to check for bits by removing the lower cover.

I checked the shifter and it is installed correctly however i have not yet had time to take the bottom plate off to have a look at it yet to see if any thing is broken i will do that tomorrow and get back to you on that thank you for your help
