clifford performance intake and header

Purchased a clifford intake and header combo recently for the 223/262 (mine is a 262) inlines and was reading the instructions were it says that the two flanges will not be the same thickness so the washer should be bent a little to properly tighten??? Has anyone one here installed these parts and if so did you and how much did you bend your washers? any pics? and seems to me the flange diffrence will cause it to tighten at an angle would this not create a problem for leaking gaskets? ?? any thoughts? experience?

How much difference between the intake and exhaust thickness? If alot you may have to make some spacers or something. Got a picture ? How are the fit and quality of the parts otherwise? Just curious, my 262 is begging for a bigger carb.........T/M

I cut down some fender washers, and slipped them in before I tightened everything up. when I first put everything together I diddn't do the washer thing, and had to replace the intake gasket. me being the hard head that I am, I neglected to instal the washers the 2nd time, and had to replace the gasket again. at $26.50 + shipping, the washers are a lot cheaper. let alone cleaning off the gasket material. 1 more tip, make sure you have a new starter, and make sure that it is on, BEFORE you put the headers on. no room to change later. the passenger side brake line needs to be bent towards the front of the truck for the header to clear it, everything else goes smooth. good luck

I used the origional bolts and washers, and the cut down fender washers.you can use mr gasket #260, it don't stick up above the intake like the stock gaskets, or the gasket that comes with the headers.
