Congrats . Now save up for a wicked wheel or ported turbo housing to reduce or eliminate turbo surge. I never saw it until I added the mighty DP. I can make mine surge without towing and definately while towing.
My better half who drives the EX. advised she can't stand the down shift of lock up converter. With DP's tune in 80 econ. Slowing from higher speeds over 45 mph, and reaching 45 mph it seems transmission down shifts(lock up converter ) does something to help slow truck .It's ok with me but better half can't stand it.
Does yours do this?
DP is closed till next week.
I would assume Jody can adjust chip to have regular down shifts?
Any input.
I drove truck on highway for about an hour in 80 econ with cruise on and didn't notice any surging.Well maybe very slight but barley.
Do you have wicked wheel or housing?
I can't make anymore noise with truck. Better half will not be happy.

It seems like a huge majority of people like that style of shifting, but I too hate it for everyday driving.
When Jody live-tuned my F250, I had him keep that style of shifting for all of my tow tunes and both of my race tunes, but not for my 60 econo or 80 econo tunes.
I LOVE that style for when I'm towing, but I hate it for everyday driving because I like to let off the pedal early and "free-wheel" coast whenever I can.
Thanks for the reply
I will keep the 80 tow, 120 r for me with down shifts.
I will go with 80 econ free wheel.
Any idea if Jody will charge for this fix?
How do you like the AC/38R.I'm hoping to be there within next yr. or so.
I have regulated return that I haven't put on yet.Probably after the A/C's. Hoping to cut the injector noise?

My wife also hates the downshift, well complained about it at first. I'm used to it now. From what I understand, the firmer shifts are better for the transmission because it's reducing the slipping (which causes added friction and more heat) that normally occurs, much like a shift kit. I think she's used to it now.
I don't have a surge fix yet but am going to buy the ported housing.
They can pump out power, but not extreme like the bigger hybrids (danger Will Robinson, danger), and they can be tuned for a tad less, for daily driving or towing. They are still great for towing too, without raising EGT's too much.
What is the ITP OBA...
When you add custom tunes, your rig will boost over the factory set threshold.
The Overboost Annihilator fools the MAP sensor into believing you're not producing too much boost. Producing too much boost will tell the PCM to defuel. Overboosting also sets the SES light.
The OBA allows your vehicle to produce as much boost as it does, but only allows the vehicle to "see" a preset amount under the 24/25lb threshold where defueling starts.
...and pre pump mod?
The Ford fuel line setup works under a vacuum/suction setup which easily allows air to be sucked into the line. Air is bad for our rigs because we have a dead-head, non-return fuel system.
Doing the pre-pump mod...sometimes referred to as the Hutch mod...is the first step in eliminating air in the fuel line.
Mine didn't have one, like many Excursions, and rear anti-sway bars help with body roll, which is another component of steering wander caused by the weak springs Ford put on the 4x4 Excursions.
Thanks again for al the info.
I could go on and on with questions
These are amazing machines
I'm looking forward to doing injectors
I was on a business trip and stopped by SWAMPS business, met with (David?)
Nice clean place. He showed me were they rebuild and explained process and showed what they did.
I'm on the fence about new A/C's or rebuilds from SWAMPS.
SWAMPS $1650 rebuilt. A/C's $1900 to $2000 New.What do you think?
Would the 200/30% hybrid be to much for wifr grocery getter and wanting fuel economy.
Thanks

That's why I love the 200/30's from Swamps. They can be as mild as AC codes, or made to be more wild than a set of stage 2 singles, all depending on which tune you switch to on your DP-Tuner!
Thanks for the info.Has anyone posted info on there set up with the 200/30's.
I'm happy with my new tunes from Jody.
My better half isn't happy with the daily driver 80 econ. tune.
Seems to be louder (injectors) then my previous Diesel Innovation tunes.
Any suggestion I can make to Jody to calm injector noise?
If I get HER used to the increased noise, then changing over to single shots might not be as noticeable.
Thanks for the info.Has anyone posted info on there set up with the 200/30's.
A few have over in the 7.3L PSD forum.
I also met a guy at John Wood's shop who is running a 38R and a set of those Swamp sticks on Jody's tunes and he's very happy with the combo.
If you wanna quiet down the injector noise a tad, get the CCK/regulated return for your rig. Not only is it better for your rig because it removes the dead-head fuel system but it also quiets down injector noise.
I have the regulated return sitting in a box at home.
I'm saving it for the single shot conversion.
The singles will make it even louder over splits?
Did you notice a big difference .
Installing singles and regulated return, I'm hoping to be at the noise of splits or quiter?
