Hurst shifters should be your only choice, but even those are a bit 'universal' and IMO a band-aid. The trans in these will never shift like a modern car, regardless of selector. I agree, fix the column. Flashback F100's offers a column rebuild service if you don't want to tackle it yourself, but it's more likely that a) the rod bushings are worn (they are external) or b) your cab mounts are rotted and sagging making the shifter bind on the firewall.
Hurst makes a shifter for our 3 speeds for our trucks. I put one in a 66 a couple years back and was kinda fun to drive after that. It had a somewhat long throw for the shifter, but still worked great. I would stay away from the Mr.Gasket ones or the "universal" ones. They might last a year.
I had a floor shifter in mine. I installed it when I got the truck about 9 years ago. It worked great when I removed the 3spd last year. I don't remember what brand it was. It was one of the cheaper ones they had at Autozone at the time. It had a real long throw.

Flashback Tom, learned about rebuilding columns from Rick when he worked at Carolina Classics. LOL
