pics of why my 49 isnt done!!!

so in the middle of doing my 49 streetrod project i get a phone call from a friend about buying his 89 GMC s15...$ 500.00 and 3 months later im in the middle of building the " truckster " a corvette/shelby cobra inspired roadster truck...

I shaved the side windows and cab seams...i plan on making roll bar hoops over the drivers and passangers seats and doing some sort of speed hump on a bedcover behind the seats to give it that roadster feel. ( like the one in the F150 above )...i also used the door handles and cooling fans from a 94 Audi...the motor is v8 from a 85 camaro and its backed by a 7004r trans... the whole truck was getting rusty and i thought this would be cool parts hauler/ I needed a v8 toy till the 49 was done....well its back to the garage for more body work....keep the projects goin and ill post more pics of both trucks when i get more done

thanks

steve-

Kool project, even if it has you sidetracked for the moment. I for one would be interested in how it all turns out. Please keep us posted.

I agree with you Dick, but it has been done to our era of trucks and something that might interest others wanting to do it to thier fords. I do love and respect your love to the Ford gods though, lol

so it's not a ford . i understand that , but if that's the case dick are we gonna run all the guy's with non ford powerplants off , or maybe those who just want to tinker with something else to keep them selves from being driven bonkers by the money pit ford we all have . i like to see what others are up to and the skill levels they have . also i might be able to steal an idea or two . this would be better suited for the general automotive forum here than on this one though .by the way goin' slow i just happen to have a 5.0 fuelie that'll make that ch#%* run better if your interested ..... !!!!!!!!!LOL !!!!!!!!!!

lol seems to me this problem would be solved with "OT" in the topic subject.

The trucks looking good, reminds me of my s-10 before it was totalled 13 days later. (I figured I still had time to was it and get a good photo, I was wrong, lol)

This section of FTE has the most freedom of all the forums - we get to do more and say more than anyothers - that includes all the non-Fords parts and pieces being used and the discussions on how to make them work.
We have to make sure we are able to maintain our status so that even the darksiders can play here (we would be in sad shape without their skills).
If people push the limits with posts like this we will all pay - it's all about keeping our sandbox clean ourselves without the need of the keepers.

This is a little off topic but in line with the current conversation.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>

While I agree, I think it is refreshing to see something a bit different in this section. And I see that it pertains to us because one of our own, Steve, is working on it. I care more about the person than the truck he is working on, even though his ford is what brought all of us together.<o></o>
<o></o>
That being said, if we didn’t have the freedom in this forum, I think you would see a mass exodus of people heading to another forum where freedom could be had. I have seen many truck and car forums go from number one to dead in the water because a few tried to police and enforce the rules too strictly.<o></o>

I respect everyones right to build what ever they want. That said, WTF!!! What drew me to FTE was scares pre-60 Ford truck information and the way members share info and parts. I know of no other better Ford truck site... This thread does'nt belong here and if it does belong here at FTE at the very least it's in the wrong era. MHO.
