leveling kit and shock question (05+)

i have bilstein 5100's all around on my truck. the front shocks say they are for a 2 inch lift. since most leveling kits are about 2.5", would i have to worry about the shocks? i really don't want to buy new shocks or add shock extension brackets.

I had the same Bilsteins on my truck and they were too short for the DR 2.5" coils I had on my truck...

Not sure exactly how short, but the ride was rough because the shocks were over-extended. I may have netted a little more than 2.5 inches of lift though.

What if you went with the Bilstein 2.25" kit? I think your current shocks may work with that setup.

I assume that you have Part # BE5-C335-HO for the front shocks. Bilstein states that, "Compression bump stop on chassis may need to be modified to prevent damage to the shock absorber. This is standard when placing longer shocks in the stock location."

Did the installation guide detail the actual modification to the bump stop?
