Superduty shock question?

I bought a set of shocks off a new '09 F350 to use on my '05 F250, rear shocks on my '05 are 2" longer than the '09 shocks....... both have OEM shocks...... Most aftermarket shocks are suppose to fit 05-09...... what gives???? Thanks.

If I recall correctly, in '08 Ford increased the length of the rear springs, so it wouldn't surprise me that the shocks changed also.
