Brake shoes

I measured my rear brake shoes the other day and they appear to be about 12" x 3.5" but the only listing at motor craft for that size is for a drw which mine is not. Could I have the wrong brake drums on my truck? Does any one know if the master cylinders where different srw to drw.

I believe that there are two differant sizes listed that have nothing to do with if its a DRW or SRW.

Just looked at rockauto and they only show 2.5" and 3" for the F250

The F350 shows 3", and the 3.5" for both the DRW and SRW.

Mine are definitley 3.5 inches wide when I measured them the other day. I will pull the drum today and see if I can find any part numbers.

OK the only markings on the shoes are "this side out " and "A3102"
The drum has "FOMOCO KH108737 01 NHZ" cast into it and "94" stamped on it which is the year I am guessing. The drum also has "max dia 307.1" on the outside edge.

OK heres where im at. The current shoes are definatley 3.5 inch but I fail to see how you could get 12 1/8 shoes inside a 12 inch drum although I guess anything is possible. I need to know if srw and drw drums are different because the size of the drums suggests srw but the studs are very long and could be for drw but I havent seen a drw setup up close so not sure. I am wondering if the backing plate and inner workings were all the same and if so I could just get the 3 inch shoes and fit them. Trouble is its a long way to ship parts if theyre wrong.

Advance Auto shows a 3.5 x 12.125" brake drum for DRW trucks.

They also show 3.5 X 12" drum, again for DRW.

Then they show 3 x 12" DRW and SRW trucks.

Advance Auto Parts

Unfortunately no pictures.

As for master cylinders,

Alright now im getting some where. Grams those specs were perfect cheers. Dave AAP was down for maintenance when I checked but i'll look again later, as you have probably seen on my other post "OOPS" I have plenty of time at the moment. So here is what I now know, I have 3 inch drums. Some one has fitted 3.5 inch shoes at some time in the past either ignorant or stupid or both. They both have the same curve on the actual shoe just the pad is slightly thicker on the 12.25 shoes. I managed to compare a 3" and 3.5" shoe at a brake shop today and the differece is small enough that you could fit them with a little bit of adjustment. That said my brakes have always been spoungey so perhaps new correct size shoes and a brake bleed will fix that. Heres hoping. Will keep all updated.
