Hey guys, I wanted to know if anyone knew how much boost a stock turbo and motor can handle before problems. My boost is around 30 - 32 psi. I just want to make sure I will not blow a head gasket or waste the turbo. I have an over boost annihilator on it's way, and I wanted to tighten up the waste gate for a little more boost. Thanks for any info.
On a stock turbo, 30 psi is the limit. Not sure how your getting 30-32 out of yours, I can barely hit 27 on a good day. You wont need to worry about head gaskets untill 40 psi IIRC
That's not good. I was ready to tighten up my wastegate to try and get some more boost. I guess if I want more I am going to have to get a new ball bearing housing. Can you beef up the stock turbo to handle more them 30 psi?
1.0 housing? at that rate tho u'd be better off investing in a van turbo and a ebpv delete... a 1.0 should reduce drive pressures but i could be incorrect in this thought

Nothing you can do to beef up the stock turbo. No matter what you put on it you still have the same none ball bearing innards, that can't take high boost.
