I just ordered a 2010 super duty 350
I traded a 2006 GMC 2500 Dura max
I am little worried about what I might loose from the Dura max to the INT motor
But the GMC dealer could not do the deal
any thoughts?
thanks mark
You wont have to worry Mark, Ford makes an excellent truck. I have used them for a few years now and I have a few friends that have Duramax's and they can't pull half the stuff I can pull without issues. What exactly are you worried about? I think you made a hell of a choice.
I don't know what you need to haul/tow, but if your Dmax did it, your 6.4L will do it. The Dmax is no slouch by any stretch, I have a lot of respect for that motor and tranny, but the 6.4 is on a par.
You will like the rest of the truck better than your Chevy, with the possible exception of the ride. No way is the Ford going to ride as nice as the IFS Chevy.
You didn't mention 4WD, but the Chevy version is weak. The Ford is far superior in that regard, except for the ride quality.

I'm certain you are going to love that new truck.
Yes the ride was a big concern
I had a 2002 f-350 diesel and that is what I traded for the GMC
My wife hated riding in the 2002 so I hope they have improved the ride in the 2010
We will see...
Since the 2002 MY, Ford went to coil springs up front in 2005, and in 2008 they went to longer leafs in the rear. In theory, those things should improve the ride. One thing you will notice is the much better turning radius. As good as a Chevy? No.
I would think that the ride quality has greatly improved since the 2002 F350. You should be impressed with the improved suspension, braking, interior, and other refinements of the 2010 F350. Congrats on the new Super Duty and welcome to FTE!
