Just wondering if anyone is using mud flaps / guards on their Expy? I don't recall seeing too many on the road with them. Anyone with a pic?
I am interested in the Ford custom molded (color match for EB) but my dealer won't bring any in unless I'm buying it. I think I'll try another dealer to see if anyone has one to "model".
Are mud flaps too "old school" or do they look awkward on the Expy? There certainly is a practical value for them but I just don't see them installed very often.
I've noticed that snow/slush can be thrown from the tires onto the top of the running board when driving at highway speeds. A mudflap would limit this.
I am using flaps on mine. I live in NC and the red clay that washes onto the road was getting on my boards and staining them. I purchased the set of 4 from Advance Auto. They are a custom set made for the vehicle. They mold right into the wheel mouldings and I suppose that you could paint them to match the trim color. They were $45 for the set, and installation was a breeze! Iwill E-mail you a pic of them
Your Ford dealer has them and they are very nice. The ones i got where black and had a raised ford emblem on them. fit was very nice !! They come in 2 styles one for expys with fender flares and ones with out. ask your dealer for a Ford Outfitters catalog that should show you them or they should be able to bring up a pic on their computer. I think they are around $30 something a set of 2 good luck!!!
Thanks Mark. I did get the Ford ones (color matched for EB).
For the rear, the pre-drilled holes weren't "right" so I re-drilled to get the guards straight. It bugged me that the pre-drilled holes made the guards point inward. Life is better now that they are straight.

I got a set for the rear of my '98 on eBay for around $50 with shipping. They are Ford OEM and are nice!
