Buenos dias Nuevo Mexico. I used to live out there. Was stationed at W.S.M.R. Mar'81 till I got out Dec. '82. Wife was living in Alamogordo when we met & just stayed there when I got out. Just thought I'd stop in & say " Howdy ".
Happy Monday NM. Had a nice drive this past weekend. Took the F350 through the twin tunnels in Jemez. Down to my old camp site. Up near the lake through the Valle Caldera (no elk) to Los Alamos. Then into Santa Fe. Stopped at Madrid for some grub and back through S14 to I40 into Alb. Was gonna do the Sandia Crest as well. But, ran out of time. Actually wanted to take the trail back down through Placitas instead of back to Alb. Oh well. Maybe next time.
Was a nice trip. Did it for the now X GF. She been wanting to go on a road trip all summer. So, I finally took her. She just sat there with a blank stare in her eyes. Waste of time. Now she's gone... NEXT!!!
Sorry to hear that Eddie. She seemed like a nice girl. I recently broke it off with the woman I met Memorial Day. Seemed like it would last a lifetime but you know how women start to change and try to change you...
I'm getting ready for a trip to Mojave Road next Friday. Trail goes from Laughlin, NV to Barstow, CA. 140 miles but could be up to 200 with side trips off the main road. Lotsa cool stuff to see, Civil War forts, old settlements, volcanic fields and cones, railroad depots, springs, huge cactus, and solitude. Going with my Heep club and a couple friends who live in Barstow. After MR I'm hitting Vegas to wheel one more day and party with a buddy up there. We're also going to tour the Shelby Mustang factory there. Got both trucks ready to go. Friday morning I roll the coal!
Trip was great BTW. 176 miles of trail in 3 days. 4 Fords and 2 Heeps. Both Heeps had trouble but the Fords ran flawlessly. My 86 B2, another 86 B2, a 95 Ranger and an 04 V10 F250.
