problem is its not just them though... society needs to wake up and realise that the bullying of the kids as well needs to stop.. but never will..

Its not the bullying Sparky.

2 months ago and then last week and then 2 this week and one attemp today. The teenagers at work text me in the middle of the night just wanting to talk, which is great. I would rather lose sleep than them.

it's good that they are talking to someone, too many parents are incredibly blind to what's happening around them to see the signs before it's too late. Off the cuff statements, attitude and personality shifts are yellow flags that need to be investigated, not just chaulked up to being a teenager. Sometimes as parents we feel that we fail, but if your not involved in your childrens lives it'll be like the billboard you pass everyday, the day it changes you notice something different, until it becomes familiar again and forget all about it once again.

Sparky I dont know. I just know that all the teenager at my work have my cell # and they all know they can call or text me anytime they want. I have left my cell on 24-7 just for they can have someone to talk too. Im not the only one at work that leaves the phone on there are other people i work with that does the same.

We are also the place everyone comes to and hangs out, tonight we had 1 of my younger daughters friend over that was supposed to go home at 10, but was playing Wii, we told him call home ask to stay a little longer and I would drive him home, he went home 11:30. My middle just called and is on her way home now. Be involved without over bearing unless neccessary, and step-in when needed.

Tonight my daughter told me that she doesn't understand how all there friends are so comfortable with us and how they like to come around even though were home. We never let our kids go over to others homes unless there is adult supervision and we have at least met or spoken with the parents, even if it's just a wave at the door to acknowledge that someones home in authority.
