I'm considering buying another Sprinter.
Sick of ice and sleet in my bed with my tools.
you must be crazy, i happen to know that those are the most expensive TURDS on the planet. initial cost, upkeep, tow bills (there will be several!) and they dont actually get 25mpg as advertised. german crap.
Aaron we're just cleaning and doing boring stuff on the trucks tomorrow. Oil changes and the like. Maybe play around with a couple AEs. Depends on when Best Buy and NAPA open up as to my plans for tomorrow morning. I'm gonna run down to NAPA for a new dome light bulb and a fuel filter and see if Best Buy has an el-cheapo laptop I can install my new AE onto so I don't ruin my 1200$ laptop down at the shop.
Good morning guys.
It was nice to see you guys and and put some faces with some other names
Aaron did you get the chip in?
Steve (sddesign) it was nice to chat whit you.
And thanks to Pete for hosting it.
Jim (I think ) the food was GREAT, thank you.

I used to have a tall boy one for my cabinet shop down in Stamford.
It never caused my any trouble, but it only got used for delivering cabinets to the jobsite.
Not many miles, I didn't care about mileage it was more than twice as good as my 460.
Aaron,
Care to tell me what to look out for?
The only other thing I can see with that much walkaround space is a van like Daves.
Good morning all. I stayed at Pete's until the end last night around 11:30. All wrenching was completed successfully. The whole day was a blast and I got to meet a whole bunch of great people. I just with I could go help clean up this morning, but instead I get to go to work for a couple of unpaid hours.
how did the dually turbo/injector drive after it was all back together?
andy, chip is in and my tires are slippery now
jim, notorious failures would include:
-TRANSMISSION! you will need to make or buy your own dipstick, but you want to check the fluid quality. burnt fluid makes those trannies slip quickly, then they are done. they also will leak from the electrical connection and the output seal.
-ball joints and tie rod ends
-alignment pins on the rear leaf springs will break and the axle will walk.
-injectors! make sure it idles smoothly, or make sure its still covered under warranty so they can be changed out..
-egr valves are hard to diagnose without a scan tool, but if it has a new shiney one its a good sign.
-as for the electronic failures, you cant really "see it coming".
if you get me a vin number i can look up warranty history to see what the life has been like.
well, good morning to all and i hope to see some videos from petes when i get home tonight!
