Tire press. sensor

Need a little help for a friend. He's got an 08 V10 and want's to downgrade to 17 in. rims. What will he need to do for the tire pressure sensor light to stay off if running these rims? Use a piece of tape to cover the light (thats what I told him). He mostly want's to run winter tires on these rims then go back to his summer tires on 18s and was wondering if this will throw any codes.
Thanks much.

Only way to eliminate the light is to add sensors to the wheels. The system is designed to not be able to be turned off. So new sensors on second set of wheels or tape. Good Luck

Just make sure that the tires are rated for what the driver side door sticker says, otherwise adding the sensors will just be a waste of money.
