285/75/18 MT/R on Stock F250?

Do you think LT285/75R18 will fit on a 2009 F250 stock?

A local tire shop can get me a set of the new Goodyear Wrangler MT/R Kevlar tires. For me the size seems nice: somewhat taller but not much wider. What do you think my chances are they'll fit my '09?

They should fit. Worst case scenario if they rub a bit in front throw a level kit on. My guess is you'll be fine though.

I would imagine you should be good. 285/75r16's fit the older leaf sprung trucks without any rubbing. 18's should be about 35's tall I believe, but I keep hearing 35's fit under the '08+ trucks without rubbing fine.

Definately hoping they'll fit stock.
Stinkin' 18" rims are $$$ when it comes time for tires!

I would be curious to know how they fit as I have the same truck and will be looking for tires in the next couple months.

I was told by the tire warehouse shop here in VT that size will fit my 2008 SD 250 no problem, they are a plus 1 size over the stock tires on it now they tell me, no issues BUT I was worried with my Vbar chains would they become an issue as they couldnt get me studded tires in 18 inch.

No answer for me on chains with the plus 1 tire voer my stock ones, so I went with 275/70/18 which is what came on truck and manual says chains no problem.

if you run V bar chains and get those tires let me know how they clear please!

edit: oh yes, I never did find out if they are a E range tire in that size, do you know? thanks

Use this one Tire Size Calculator - Discount Tire Direct

it's been a lot of help to me recently.

I plugged in the metric tire sizes into that online calculator and here's what I got:

LT275/70/18
33.1" Tall
10.8" Wide

LT285/75/18
34.8" Tall
11.2" Wide

Judging by the available space in the fenders, it looks like they'll fit my truck. I do use my truck off road from time to time, and I want to make sure there is adequate clearence for the suspension to fully articulate.

What was the mph difference? That won't give you to much lift but it will throw the speedo off.

285/75/18s fit my 2wd SD without rubbing and thats on -12mm offset rims so the tires sit about 1.75 inches proud of the wells. Close but no rub. With the added height of a 4wd, you should not have a problem.

I would think those tires should fit OK,,I almost purchased that size tire in the BFG AT design,,for my 06' F-350,,,,big $$$,,instead I purchased a set of 07' F-250 stock Alloy take-off wheels,,, like a week old,,brand new condition (f-250 have the same brakes) and the 17" wheels fit fine,,,,purchased a set of 285/70/R17 Hankook Dyna Pro MT tires,,had them studded as well,,,what great traction these tires are, for mud/ snow,,,whatever,,,some road noise,,but now I have a winter set,,and summer set of wheels and tires.

PS,,The Hankook's are D rated tires,,,at a like 3196 lb rating per tire,,compared to the Contis E's at 3650 (approx) per tire,,,my truck is about 7900 lbs with the cap, and tools that I normally carry,,,,then add the 900 lb 9' Fisher plow,,,,,the tires have done great last 2 years.

They Fit Easily

I test fit the LT285/75/R18 Goodyear Wrangler MT/R on my 2009 F250, and they fit no problem at all. They are a full 35" tall. As a few others have said, a 35x12.50" tire can fit under these trucks with no lift.

So far, I've flexed it out and hit bumps turning, and there is no rubbing at all. Here are a few pics that will have to tide you over until I can get the truck all washed up and get better lighting conditions.
