2001 with 2004 tranny
i have a 2001 with a blown 4.0l. Im buying a 2004 engine and transmission but the trans bolts up but the books say its not that easy. As far as electricle goes. does anyone know wehat kind of trouble ill run into if i do this swap thanks

If the '04 engine and tranny are from a Ranger, then it should work.
Both the '01 and '04 trannies are the same (5R55E), as are the 4.0L SOHC engines. (I assume you are talking about an automatic tranny).
What sort of electrical problems are you concerned with?
