What's this thing?

Can anyone tell me what this is? I think it's an air pump check valve but I'm not exactly sure. Any ideas?

Can you get a better picture? It looks like an A.I.R. check valve, but I have not seen one in that place.

It is a air check valve for the emissions system. It should have a "neck" on the rear of it that screws into the exhaust manifold or air injection pipe.

It IS an air check valve. I found one just like it. Thanks for the help.
