EBPV delete

EBPV delete
What exactly does this delete do? I am under the impression that it is only activated during cold starts. Is that correct? Does it have anything to do with overboost, or anything other than quicker engine warm-up?
The reason I'm asking is, I'm doing the turbo pedastal seals, and thought that would be a good time to do the EBPV delete.
If that's true, can someone describe the procedure? It requires drilling and tapping, as well as some kind of freeze plugs or something, correct? Does anyone recall the specifics?
Thak you for your support, FTE family

It is a flap that closes on the exhaust side of the turbo to hold exhaust pressure to help warm up the engine quicker. It has nothing to do with overboosting as far as I know.
Here's what I did with mine.Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums - beanhead6D5's Album: EBPV delete
Hope this helps!
EDIT:Go through the pics backwards so they make since.Someone loaded them wrong.

You need a 1/4 tap and a 1/4 plug. You will remove the insides and plug the whole.
It basically removes the system that is notorious for becoming an oil leak over time.
Reps to Brad (beadhead) for the pics.. ohh.. wait.. i'm in timeout.
Also, you may want to look into getting a highflow outlet from clay. It's considerably bigger flowwise. Just a thought.
Good luck!
