What exactly does this delete do? I am under the impression that it is only activated during cold starts. Is that correct? Does it have anything to do with overboost, or anything other than quicker engine warm-up?
The reason I'm asking is, I'm doing the turbo pedastal seals, and thought that would be a good time to do the EBPV delete.
If that's true, can someone describe the procedure? It requires drilling and tapping, as well as some kind of freeze plugs or something, correct? Does anyone recall the specifics?
It is a flap that closes on the exhaust side of the turbo to hold exhaust pressure to help warm up the engine quicker. It has nothing to do with overboosting as far as I know.
I see you have a Dp. In case you hadn't heard, there is tune now that utilizes the EBPV as a poor mans jake brake. If you tow it might be worth looking into.

I'm afraid I may have a leak, easier to plug than fix. Though the poor man's jake brake sounds good.
I think i seen one on my brother in-laws truck it looked after market. It didn't use the guts of the pedistal. Just the valve and I think the valve was flipped upside down so the linkage was on top and it had a vaccuum canister or something like that to run it.
