Factory Plugs
On my 05 there are two female plugs behind the plastic bin in the dash. One is for the brake controller, 4 wire, and there is another plug next to it, 7 wire. what is that for? Upfitter switches?

Yes...for approx $40 you can swap out the cubby hole for a set of upfitter switches and for approx $60 you can add the wiring harness that begins under the glove compartment and extends to the upfitter switches.
