I have a 97 f250hd. It has the factory wiring for trailer lights with a 4 prong plug. So I bought a brake controller and the plug to go to the factory wiring under the dash. I also bought a 7 way plug that plugs into the 4 prong and than you wire the extra wires. I found the extra wires under the truck but I only get power from the brake controller. No 12 volt or back up lights. So I looked under the hood and found the wire for 12 volt and back up plugged off by the fuse box. Why would ford wire the rest and not the auxiliary? How can I complete it?
It was just one of those design flaws, on all of them i have seen including dads they run a 12volt fused right from the battery and tie into the reverse lights in the back
