Well I did it today, I pulled my EGR today and cleaned it. It did not look as bad as I thought it may have, I has 45,000 miles on it. But it cleaned up nice. Only took about 1 1/2 hours from start to finish. And a $8.00 gasket kit from Ford, and one can of carb cleaner $2.89. I also changed my fuel filters as well, I think I will clean the EGR everytime I change my fuel filter from now on.
Dirty.
Clean
Good job. Your valve looked like it should, so you seem to be getting good combustion. I wouldn't clean it every fuel filter change, but cleaning it once a year would be good.
Thanks Bismic,
I was scared that it might of been allot worse then that. I sold my other truck and bought this truck about 4 months ago and it had more hours on it than I would like to see with 40,000 miles on, but had a clean Oasis and the truck is really clean as well. I'm getting ready for my first long transport with this truck ( 2,200 mile round trip ) and wanted to check this before I left. I'm happy with it.
