Well the motor is out of the 89. Trying to get all of the things I need to get them on the new motor. Vac lines and distributor is about all I need, but Im finding it hard to find where there lines go to. Most of the ones on the 89 have been ripped off accidently and when they were replaced they were replaced with black rubber ones. Anyone have a vac line routing diagram for that year i can look at? and what all can be removed for the emissions stuff? will upload some pics soon...
Got to Motorcraft's website. Select Technical Resources near the top, then Quick Guides on the left hand side, then at the bottom select VEC1 Labels. from there you can select which year, model, engine size and emission code sticker to view the correct vacuum/emission routing. It is a basic drawing, the same as if the underhood label was still present. At least it is a start. If you do not have the emission code select a few from the the dropdown menu and compare to see what is common between them. Next best thing is an actual Ford EVTM manual. It has in depth service information
The flexplate off of the motor out of the 89 had some sheared teeth on it. I have the one from the 94. Are they the same? Also, can i replace the big clunker of a starter with the smaller high torque one? by using the flexplate spacer from the 94? or are the connections totally different?
According to several websites I checked your flex-plate should interchange between years as long as they both were designed to fit your 351W. I am not familiar with swapping in a later model starter, so I will refrain from answering that one.
