Heater not working so well....
Is this an XLT with the three-dial HVAC system or an EB with the electronic climate control? If the former, I would verify that the coolant level is ok. Usually, heater hoses are the high point of a car's cooling system. If coolant is low, the water pump may be able to push coolant through the heater core when the engine is operating at driving speeds. At idle, the pump will not generate enough force to cause circulation through the core; the heater fan immediately cools the stagnant water and cold air is the result.
