The earlier Fords had a valve on the frame. Unless I am mistaken, and I have been a couple of times this week (I know, I was shocked too!), in 1992 the switched to what they call a Fuel pump module (or something similar). I believe the tank switch just sends power to each pump and gauge sending unit. No more valve.
Thanks KcOrey I was thinking it was some thing like that. I am going to retrofit the newer style fuel system in the 93 into my 86. Now I need a electrical diagram for both of the trucks.
