ok i have a 06 f350 6.0 love my truck but i have a problem.i try to start it and it will idle at about 350 to 400 rpm then die . ill try it a few times then it will start . once i get it started it runs fine.sometimes it starts right up just fine took it to a dealr in monroe la and they fixed a high pressure leak and my batterys but that didnt fix the problem . any ideas would be a great helpthanks
The thing about a 6.0L is that it is very hard to troubleshoot without the proper tools and procedures. A "hard start / rough run" can be many things such as FICM, injectors, fuel pump (HFCM) , plugged fuel filters, ICP sensor, IPR valve, high pressure oil leaks, and even on rare occasion the GPCM. Narrowing it down can be very time consuming. The first place to start is by retrieving the codes (DTC's). If you do not have access to the software / equipment for getting the codes, then back to the dealership should be your next stop.
Please keep us informed as to what you find. It can really help folks out when people follow their threads all the way to the solution!
