I have found a 6.0 intercooler here locally. He is asking $200 for it. What should I look for when I go to look at it. Any help would be much appreciated.
Look for any physical damage. Bent fins, cracks, dings, etc. If you can, pressure it up with air, and test for leaks.
The one I'm looking at has 47,000 miles on it. But. I don't know its history yet.

Look to see how clean it is.There will be some oil were the IC pipes hook up(not a lot).Look at the end caps for any cracks in the plastic.make sure the center core is not beat up or has damage.Pick it up turn it tube side down and see if any oil runs out.

The IC, I'm looking into, has 84,000 miles. Don't know where I got the 47,000 from. I talked with the seller this morning. The truck was totaled from a rear end collision and and also suffered side damage. He has the trans (5R110) and radiator for sale, also. If anyone is interested in these, let me know by PM. I'll be going over to look at the IC tomorrow afternoon.
If you get it,will you have it in for the road trip to see Jim?
I won't be taking Big Red this trip. We will be taking Little Gray (wife's '07 Escape) for this trip. More economical. I will hopefully have my ceramic coated 1.15 turbine housing/outlet and the 6.0 IC installed before the trip. Will still need the boots/clamp for the IC. I'm sure Clay can fix me up with what I need.
