Hey all! I have an 82 f150 I just put a new intake and carb on now it won't shift into third... I think it has to do with a vacuum line or vacumm lines. I have been researching trying to find out where exactly they come out of the trans any and all help is greatly appriciated and if anyone knows of a good website please post. thanks!
Yea, sounds like you didn't put the vac modulator hose back on, probably dropped it down on top of the bell housing or in that general area (modulator is on the passenger side of the trans).
Find it's vac line and connect it to any non metered vacuum source on the carb or on the intake either one. Some carbs have a port for it, some don't.
Originally the vac line would be metal up to the back of the intake, short rubber line at each end to make the connection but may have been changed to all rubber at some time in the past.
