Deflector assy.

Ok, guys so i broke off the "deflector assy. a/c cond." thats Ford's description or the removable shroud behind the powerstroke name tag in the engine compartment that hangs slightly over the belt area...is it ok to drive the truck like this for today???...I ordered a new one won't be in til tomorrow so just wondering what its purpose is? Is it just to keep fingers and other things away from the belt?

Mine was broken into 2 pieces when I bought my truck used. I removed it over a year ago and havent had an issue.

6litrefan...where did you find a replacement and how much....might need one myself someday.

Anyone know why these are breaking so easily? Is there a special dealer only tool to remove them? Just curious...haven't replaced my serpentine yet, but know I'll probably need to remove this shroud piece when the time comes.
