Insulation on firewall???
Does any one have any suggestions on how to remove that rubber insulation off the firewall of my 61 uni??? Scrapers and screwdrivers not working to well. Maybe a heat gun???

It's prolly undercoating that was sprayed as a rust preventative.
When this stuff hardens up, it's a b!tch to remove.
Kerosene is one product that will help get the crap off, along with numerous scrappers and wire brushes.
Don't forget: Wear rubber gloves when using kerosene or any other petroleum based products.

On this note, has anyone else used Lizard skin as a rust preventer/ heat insulator. I have heard great things about it. I even saw a great demo of how well it dissipates heat. Just wondering if anyone else has used it or plans to.
