Any rec. on tires for a 2006 King Ranch with 20" wheels. Have the stock Goodyear now 275 65 r20 and maybe want to get something different. I am going to keep my wheels though.
07 f250 King Ranch srw 6.0 42,000 miles.
I absolutley love my NITTo Tera Grapplers. 305x55x20 on Incubus chrome rims. I did some research and found that the majority of people tried the more expensive BF goodrich AT and were unhappy with the roadnoise. The NIttos are very comfortable quiet and have a really distinct look. The downside I read was longivety was not there; howver, I have 15,000 on previously owned tires and they have managed well. They are reasonably priced at 316 a tire. I do not know about capatibility to the stock wheels?
Hope this helps.
I don't like doing business with Wal-Mart/Sam's...but on somethings you can't beat 'em. With that said both of my daily drivers ride on tries purchased from Sam's; BFG Long Trails under the Explorer and Michelin's under the Pavement Pricencess. Yeah, Michelins are more expensive than BFG or Nitto, but X Radials are rated for 60k miles and Sam's will rotate & balance 'em every 5k miles (total of 12 times). They're LT265/75/R16E and lightened my wallet for a little less than $900 (that tax & everything) this past May and they're quite and comfortable. I'd look into a set of Michelins, though I did get 52k out of my original Perilli's. Also, through the end of the month Michelin is offering a $70 instant rebate..not sure if it's just at Sam's or all retailers.
Please, when you guys buy tires ar any thing else for that matter. Please buy American. Please look for MADE IN USA. alot of manufacturing companies work off of quotas. Just think if your set of 4 tirres that you did not buy put them under quota. Then they will cut X number of American Jobs. Think If every member of this board bought only American tires. Now that is buying power, we need to flex our economic muscle as a whole. "many arrows are not easily broken" -OoRah!

I hear what you're saying and not to be a weisenheimer, but maybe you could help point people in the right direction. Is there (read as do you have) a list that could help those in the USA find USA made tires? Does anyone have such a list?
Buy the best bang for the buck. Performance + the american comfort. We own ford trucks. American. Now it is up to american tire companies to produce for us. And I say Hooyah!!!!

Guess that kills the old HANKOOK tire I was gonna throw out there as cheap but durable. Heh after reading that I ran out with a flash light just to see MADE IN CHINA molded in the side. But what can I say $800 for a set of 4 315/70/R17s I could'nt beat em.
Honestly,
what r the best american tires? Cooper and goodyear are what I have knowledge of. I very much so could be wrong. I just feel that the best bang for the buck, as with a few commodities, is a foreign tire. I like the NIITO tires. I still serve our country and solute every morning to the American industrial flag. We definatlely have wider venues for broader markets... I.e light to heavy duty tires. America makes a better AT tire and i will be on it.
I just look at like, Do I want to help chineese people? or Americans? Ipersonally like TOYO and Bridgestone. I think they are great tires, but I stopped buying them when I realized the impact that I may having on the industry. My tires cost me 700.00 for four. Do I want that staying here? or going to china?
Those good looking Michelins under my Pavement Princess were made here in the states, though I'm not sure exactly where. Becareful when you say "our trucks were made in America". Look a little closer, some of the wiring harness under the hood was made in Mexico. Yes, the engine was built in Indianapolis, and the trucks were assembly in Louisville....but there are several items that weren't. And in this day and age you have to dig hard to find things that are 100% USA content.
Michelin is a huge employer in South Carolina, with multiple manufacturing plants and their North American HQ in Greenville. Good paying jobs and lots of community involvement and support.
I just put in an order for a set of the Michelin LTX AT2 tire. Not cheap at $350 a pop up here in Canada. But damm good tire. Have three friends with Super Dutys and they are all running them. They say they made a huge difference in the trucks handling and road manners.
The Goodyear Marathon tires I replaced on my trailer about 6 months ago are now made in CHINA! The Goodyear Marathon tires I had on before were made in the USA. Just because it is an American company does not guarantee that the tire was made in the USA.
Also, the reason that I had to replace the < 3 year old tires was because two blew out within 100 miles of each other causing about $1,500 of damage to my trailer...
Did Goodyear stand behind their product??? NO! They denied my claim about a month after I had already paid hundreds of $$$ to replace 4 of them with their new Marathon tires. I did not notice that the new tires were now made in China until after they denied my claim. So now I'm out >$2,000 and have Chinese POS tires on my trailer.
Looks like my only option is small claims court...anyone know who the Statutory Agent is for Goodyear???
