hey just to give you a price to put in your mind - I own an exhaust shop and I would charge a guy off the street about 200. That would be from the y to behind the tire, with 3", with a magnaflow or a flowmaster and new hangers and a tip. magnaflow is a nice diesel performance muffler. It looks like the chreey bomb on the inside (No restriction), and they come in 3"

runs stronger sounds sweet
my truck is also a 89 with 7.3 ,i did 4in. strraight piped,from the y back.the truck sounds mean,nice rumble at idle,slight rumble going down the road,only loud when you get in the throttle hard,i'm very pleased,best 170.00 i spent on the truck.i had 3in. duals with a flowmaster before,didn't run or sound this good.

one more thing
also helps out to smooth out the y pipe junction with a 45 degree,factory connection doesn't smooth out the flow very good.just my thoughts,but i did try about 3 different systems before i went 4in. straight.good luck and sweet exhaust tones.
