I knew the Excursions were big but I had no idea you could get that much gear in one.

I agree here completely. When I bought my '08 PSD I was actually looking for a V10. But when they showed me $12K off, I couldn't resist.
Up on the SD forum, particularly in the "V10 vs PSD" thread there's lots of bashing going on. My question is why does it bother you so much? I, and some others, have tremendous respect for both engines. There are ALWAYS those who choose to insist that whichever engine they have is the ONLY engine to have, and that all others must be junk.
Take ill-informed bashers' comments for what they are: ignorant people who like to put down others in order to feel secure themselves.

We have both...is that wrong???
OK...I'm a little conflicted here...
We own two Excursions. One is a 2000 XLT w/the V-10 gasser and the 3.73 LS rear-end that we bought new (pretty much a gas-hog). The other is a 2004 LTD w/the 6.0 PSD that we bought 3 yrs old w/45k miles (third owner!). We love them both and use them as daily drivers. I like to joke that I could use either one to pull my house off its foundation.
I've been prowling both the PSD and V-10 threads and they're cracking me up. But, like I said, I'm conflicted...
Should I hate whichever Excursion I happen not to be driving at the time??? Should I despise myself for not being able to love one more than the other??? Help me out here!!!
