leveling kit

I have an 02 f350 crew cab 7.3 diesel and want to add a 2.5 inch leaf spring leveling kit from rough country( or is it tough country).Heres the problem,I want to still fit in my garage.I have 2.5 inches to spare at the highest point of the roof now..Now I know the further back you go on the vehicle the less it will rise after the lift is done..Im also thinking after 80000 miles the current leafs are more flat then they were original therefore is there the potential the leveling kit could be significantly higher then 2.5 inches?Worried that I will get this done and have to rebuild garage header which will be a bi$%#....

I put a 2.5 leveling kit (the small spring pack type) and mine just fits into the garage (cab only). It would NOT fit if I had cab clearance lights though. Hope this helps.

I have clearence lights but oddly enough because of the slope of the roof line the rear of the roof is same height as the clearance lights..

I think I may just try a shackle kit...I know it will stiffen the ride some but its easy to put on and take off...The easy taking off is important because its gonna be a tight fit in the garage..I know a hangers would be a better option with the shackles but if I need to take the shackles off because it wont fit in the garage this is the easiest way..Can I add hangers later if the height works for me?or does that add even more height?Heres the link to the kit http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/FORD-...Q5fAccessories

rtazz, I like my leaf pack, but I wouldn't do it again. It was a huge PITA, had every jack I owned, cargo straps and BFH. Doing it by myself in the garage. I would recomend the shackle, same lift and I don't think you would notice any stiffness. Opinion only.
Hooter H welcome!

At the page where you found all these topics (known as threads) you click on " New thread" Towards the top left. You put a title in then put info in the body. Then post it when you are happy with the content.

To stay on topic, I have the shackle kit and it was very easy and straight forward. I had to hog out the holes a tiny bit with a uni-bit, but other than that, it was simple.

How do you releave the stress on the suspension to install?I have to imagine you have to put a jack on top of blocks to relieve all the stress?Cause it must take quite a bit of travel to get the stress off?
