So I did the upgrade and replaced original wicked wheel on my early 99 to newer compressor wheel.
Works great. The max boost didn't go higher (usually 15 psi, going to 18 on extremes) but it is "getting there" much faster. Meaning I have much better mid-range performance.
No surge even I played with it in the mountains a bit.
I don't tow but my truck empty it 10,000 lb.

Hmm, so what was happening to the wheel you were taking out? I think I have a home for it.
