Two fuel filters?

Somebody told me there is another fuel filter (besides the one in the engine compartment) located on the frame rail. If so, how often should this one be changed?

No such thing on the rail stock, though I have 2 there now since having to splice my fuel line after the rupture at the track at RRE. Besides the bowl filter, there is a screen before the pump and similar stuff in the tank at the lame pickup.

On the frame is the fuel pump. I think the 6.0 has a filter down there, and on top of the engine.

Yup someone was trying to tell you maintenance for a 6.0 not a 7.3

Let me tell you be glad we don't have an hfcm or a factory filter on the frame. What a royal PITA that thing is. I was able to change the top side filter on dad's 6.0 before the guy I was working with had the cover snugged back on the hfcm. he'd gotten halfway through tightening it before I even got out a socket for the top one.

Thanks, guys. I believe you are right in that he was talking about a 6.0.
