Anti lock brake light.
I'm having a weird proiblem with my 06 F-350.Anytime I drive the truck about 50-60 miles the anti-lock brake light will come on.If I then shut it down and let it set for a couple of hours and restart it to drive the light will not be on until i drive it for about thirty minutes.The last few weeks the truck has on been driven for short distance ,,less than 10 miles.and the light will not come on.yesterday I drove it to northern ohio to pick up a camper .around 50-60 miles into the trip the anti-lock light came on and shut the cruise control off.when i reset cruise it worked fine.Once I arrived ,I shut truck off and let it set for about an hour.When I restarted to come home the light was of.Once again about 50-60 miles into the trip the light popped back on and kicked the cruise control of.I then set cruise again and it worked all the way home.

Pull the VSS out of the rear differential and clean the magnetic black sludge crud off of it. If it happens again, change the VSS. It's cheap, at around $25.
The black sludge means you may need to change the rear differential oil.
There's a magnet built into the filler plug you might also want to clean off.
Does your speedometer ever get erratic at all?

My 99 acted the same way, would actualy unlock the torque converter below 35 mph until I put it in park and then drive. Once I hit 35 the speedo went to zero. As long as I didn't drop below 35 the tranny stayed locked. Was the sending unit in the rear as POP suggested.
