My '09 was built in June and no problems with shifting (knock on wood).

My 6r is an 06. It had the 2-1 shift bump issue but with the new software it's fixed.

Probably not, unless you put an engine from days gone by in front of it. I don't won't to steal your thread away, I don't have anything newer than an '86 F250! I do enjoy reading your guys stuff to keep me up on how the new ones are working out!
After reading thru this thread in it's entirety, it sound like there are obviously some defective units out there. Additionally,it seems that customer service after the sale is not always the first priority of the dealers. The dealership in my little town has an attitude such that if I were to cast all convictions aside and go the new truck route, I would never buy from them. That has been fostered by their percieved annoyance when I have needed to buy dealer only parts in the past.
Many tough issues in life can be worked thru if the right attitudes are present!

iffy

i don't know if its the shifting or not but mine has a hesitation in it sometimes and when i floor it it stutters and jerks. not sure what it is, but i've got 11000 miles on it and it has done it since it was new, dealer does'nt find anything wrong either. i've about had it with this one, the 2011 f250 is looking very good to me. i had a 2002 f250 and loved it, bought the 09 150 in march, get great mpg, 21.5, but that stuttering and hesitation sux big time. and if its a software issue then ford needs to replace the old ones. no i don't recommend the 09 150s at all the performance of mine shifting wise sucks. mine is a flame blue 2009 f150 4x4, XLT, tow package without brake controler duh how stupid is that, and a few other goodies, regular cab, 5.4 and 6spd auto. probly trade it in and get 2011 F250 REGULAR CAB 4X4 WITH THE new 6.2 gasser.

Well, 3rd time in the shop. Truck has 5K on it. Tech tells me everything checked out fine but that they found the Scorpion tires WAY out of balance, that they will balance them and that HE will take care of it for free. I laughed and said this is the same issue and reason that I brought the truck in the past two months so I would expect them to "take care of it". No one has touched the truck since I bought it except the Ford dealer. Also asked why they did not catch this the past two rounds. He proceeded to give me some garbage that the previous work orders didn't state the truck was "vibrating" so they didn't check the tires (complete BS). Needless to say, we went back and forth on that discussion.

Anyway, the truck is still shifting funny so I think I will take it to another dealer as soon as I can break away from work. Starting to get a little frustrated but will be patient one more round with someone else.

Best of luck to the rest of you who have this same problem.

Smooth here too

My Raptor shifts smoothly. It seems to be getting even better as time goes by. I like the tranny, nice deep first gear REALLY launches the truck when you hammer it, and trips right up through the gears. Nice.

Depending on what state your in, check your lemon law. 3X for same problem under 18K miles or 18 months is typical.

Just bought a 2010. Have put about 700 miles on it now and it drives great. Drove on the interstate to Atlanta and back (300 miles) and it ran smooth as silk. Love it...I have had 3 Ram 1500s and a Dakota. Back to Ford (first one since my last REAL mustang in 1971, Mach 1 with shaker hood) to stay this time...surprised by how great the quality is, inside and out!!!!

Thanks Berry. I'm going to take it to my usual dealer and give it one more try (not the one where we bought it)...then will head down the path you mentioned. My usual dealer was very good to me when I had a lot of problems with my first '04 F250 6.0. They did the right thing at the time.

Will keep you posted.
